The Sierra Club vision for Nth PI was restricted recreation and no off-leash dogs

La Force asked to ban off-leash dogs a year before the state park had even been created

EBRPD declined. (We support EBRPD because it welcomes the public in, not locks them out.)

The state park Preferred Park Concept preserved EXISTING recreation on Nth PI. (There was no doubling.)

La Force was NOT happy that park planners were allowing off-leash recreation to continue on Nth PI

A few months later, he tried to stop off-leash recreation by going after the EIR

CESP letter to CA State Parks, September 17, 2002, putting onus on park planners for allowing off-leash recreation on North Point Isabel. Signed by La Force, McLaughlin, Cheasty, and Feinstein.

The park planning team issued a sharp correction

When ESP was established, La Force neglected to brag about having doubled "the Point Isabel Dog Park"

That would come later, when he first ran for the park district board in 2008

La Force has been telling this fib at endorsement meetings, in print, and online

Facts matter. Lying to voters is wrong. Don't let him get away with it.
